Chris Owens (centre back)
- Club captain and wears his heart on his sleeve Chris brings experience
and tremendous aerial ability to the side. Looking fitter than ever
this year is a massive bonus for the side Chris is a no- nonsense centre
half and not many if any get the better of him in a season.
Dave Griffiths (centre back)
– Daaaviiid!! In his 4th Year at the club is another physically
strong defender who brings experience and again a no-nonsense style
approach to defending. Dave is a commanding presence who is tough to
get past and reliable.
Rob Maurice-Jones (left back)
- Rob has started the season well at left back in what he lacks in height
he makes up with passion. The first thing Rob looks to do is defend
whether the ball be in the stand or the field he ensures the winger
does not get an easy ride.
Steven Halliwell (Centre Half)
– “Haggis” has re-joined the club after a
year at boyhood club Gresford. Haggis has good knowledge and understanding
of the game and has recently been targeted as management material. Due
to an outstanding suspension he has not started as many game as he would
have liked but when called upon haggis is good strong reliable experienced
defender and when he gets a run in the side im sure he will prove his
worth.
Steve Allman (Winger)
– “Ollie” in a second spell at the club provides the
team with quality and width on the wings. Ollie is a technically superb
player who is at home on the wing or in a more central position and
has a good eye for a killer pass and pop’s up with the odd goal.
Darran Jones (Utility)
– Darran is undoubtedly the fittest player at the club by far.
Darran brings energy and passion to the side with abundance along with
Cymru alliance experience with Gresford. Darran can play in numerous
positions and has looked a real asset providing the legs in the midfield.
Johnny Taylor (Striker)
– “JT” is a fast skilful attacker and when focussed
on his game is by far one of the best players in the league. Johnny
is another player returning to the club having spent a season at Unibond
league club Bradford Park Avenue. If “JT” can stay on top
of his game then we have a match winner in the ranks.
Matthew Davies (Utility)
– “Boxer” in his 10th season at the club has Cymru
alliance experience having played for Buckley town. Boxer is tough tackling
fully committed player who is at home playing as striker or across the
midfield. This season has been used as a right back and has formed a
strong understanding with Chris and Dave helping the defence to currently
boast the best defensive record in the league.
Dave Phennah (Midfield/Defence) – “Dai” is
a man mountain of man but gentle giant at heart. Very experienced Dave
can play either centre half or midfield and posses a good football brain
making him a real asset to the team driving on from the heart of the
midfield also very important in both boxes for the side.
Ian Mathias (attack) –
Local boy Ian is another former playing returning to the club after
a spell away. Ian adds to the attack a direct approach and with his
pace is a real threat in the forward line. Ian has Cymru Alliance experience
with Gap QP, Gresford and Bala and won the Welsh National league with
Llangollen last term.
Dan Hughes (Striker)
– This is Dan’s first full season at the club having signed
from Gresford but previously making his name at Welsh Premier League
club Airbus making a number of first team appearances. Dan is a fast
and powerful centre forward who always looks dangerous and capable of
scoring goals and will no doubt be amongst the top scorers come end
of season.
Owen Roberts (winger)
- Owen another of a long list of recent signing from Gresford in his
first season at the club. Owen adds numerous options for the manager
as he can play left or right wing and up front. Owen is probably the
fastest player at the club if not in the league and causes real problems
for teams with the ball at his feet. With his raw speed and talent Owen
will be a main threat in attack this season
George Koumas (Striker)
– George the latest signing at the club is a young striker with
a good work rate and eye for goal and possesses deadly left foot. One
of the quiet lads at the club but im sure when George finds his feet
at the club the goals will flow as the talent is clearly there for all
to see.
Richard Carr (Midfield)
– This is Ritchie’s first season at club start of the season
getting injury early into the season and then suspended we are yet to
see the best of Ritchie. With the season now in full swing im sure Ritchie’s
natural fitness and good technical ability will be an asset to the side
Ritchie can play all across midfield which give the manager options.
Keith Evans (Midfield)
– “Boo” is another long serving member of the club
and possesses great natural technical ability. Keith has all the attributes
of being a top quality player with quick skilful feet and the ability
to carve defences open with a killer pass. If he stays fit and committed
then this will benefit the club greatly.
